My own house. Thatched in Norfolk Reed.  Worthy of note, hand sawn Elm, Oak & Ash rafters. Hand Split Oak Battens circa. 1750.
High Tensile Steel Fixing Rods (Sways)  The large 'pins' are tools, thatching needles. The small ones are the fixing 'nails' or thatching spikes
 The whole house is 75 feet long taking 2,500 bundles of reed. Thatched 1984. New ridge 2002
